As the world spins
ย
On awakening one morning
Feeling rather blue
I felt as though I had the flu,
But as the day went on
I started feeling quite chipper
So I slid out of bed
Right into my bedroom slipper.
I turned on the computer
To check the daily mail
I do this every morning without fail.
Junk mail as usual,
ย mail or two from friends,
But this is not where the story ends.
I had a cup of coffee,
A bowl of cereal too,
Because this is my daily regimen
And something I faithfully do.
I returned to the computer
To regale the tale of my travail
Because as the day went on
My suffering again prevailed.
The feeling I awoke with
Was plaguing me again.
My head began to swim
As though in a tizzy
The room began to turn
I felt rather dizzy.
I called the doctors office
And was told that he was busy,
But if my ailment was serious
I could see his partner Lizzy.
After a thorough examination
And several ums or so
The doctor then told me
What I had and what I ought to know.
You have a bout of vertigo
And with this you must move slow
Because if you have a dizzy spell
Itโ€s down on your face youโ€ll go,
Iโ€ll give you this prescription
Take these pills three times a day
The medicine will help balance you
And make the vertigo go away.
This is a common ailment
For people as old as you
You must be very careful
About things you normally do.
Take it easy
For a day or two,
ย Let me know
If itโ€s the prescription
You want to renew.
Now that Iโ€m feeling better
And my old self-good as new
Iโ€ll thank the Lord in heaven
For my health He has renewed.

Hi Tom, I loved the part about Lizzy and I also loved how you tell such a simple story so well.
Are you still having trouble posting? Please let me know. Hopefully the blog was just “settling in” after the hosting change. And this should be the last one. So I hope it is going fine now.
