Bless the little child
who has no clue why
that his Daddy is a drinker
and his Mommy had to die.
Bless the little child
who was constantly beat
cause her Mama lost her job
and couldn’t afford her drugs this week.
Bless the little child
who was abandoned on the street
Cause his parent didn’t want him
he was the little black sheep.
Bless the little child
who watched his Daddy die
and his Mommy left them long ago
now he only has his dog by his side.
Bless the little children
that we pass up every day
cause we are to busy to realize
they need a place to stay.
Go, and help the children
we usually pay no mind to
cause think about your life
then what they’ve been through.
God Bless The Little Child.

About Heart 4 poetry
I love writing. It has been my passion for years. I started writing when I was only eight. I had my first poem published at ten through a poetry contest. Poetry is a major part of my life. I can write my life down in a simple page of poetry. I have not yet been recognized for my writing talent, but I hope to publish many poems and books in the near future.( I am now 16 and still writing)Subscribe

WOW, this is such a touching and true poem, thank you for helping me realize that i should never complain as there are people who have nothing. Well done

That is a very moving poem, written about something very real. It definitely will make people stop and think, and maybe even do more to help children like this. Have you considered using this poem for humanitarian purposes? It’s a great eye-opener.
Thank you for your comments. I wrote this poem while thinking of a book I had read in the past about a true story of a child who was abused and neglected. (”A Child Called It” by Dave Pelzer) It made me think about the children who we pay no mind to but inside their lives and behind the curtains of their own homes something tragic has happend or happening now. We need to realize these things do happen and take place everyday. A child may be reaching out for your hand at this moment and you don’t take the time to pay attention. Thank you for reading this and I hope it may have opened someones eyes as well as there heart.
