Gratitude

          Gratitude
On awakening in the morning
To greet the new born sun
I offer up my prayers to God
For all that He has done.

My conversations with the Lord
Are rarely pleas for me;
However, they are thank you notes
For blessings sent to me.

Our talks are rather simple,
And here is what I say
Thank you Lord for staying
The long and dream filled night.

Thank you for another day
With sun shining bright.
And even if the day is dark
That is still all right.

Thank You for Your friendship
On it I can rely
Hopefully one day I will thank You
In Your castle in the sky.
