Love Poem

I never desired

To be a leader.

leadership was not for me.

I never wanted to be a follower

because I had my own decree.

I marched to a certain drum beat

That suited me to a tee.

I followed my own dictates

Let no one dictate to me

I tried treating everyone fairly

And hoped they’d do the same to me.

Whatever happened to me in life

I accepted willingly.

But

Now that I am older

And observe life in a different view

I may have done some things differently

Except for the day that I met you.

I like this. It flows and rhymes nicely, easy to read, and the person for whom it is intended should be swept off her feet.
