The mirror’s reflection emulates delusions of the devil’s obsession.

Deterring your judgment of your own shortcomings

without suspicion of first looking at what you yourself have become.

Causing a camouflaged plague of deception out to destroy the inspiration of your surroundings.

If you could only see yourself through the eyes of others,

your judgment of people would be a self-evaluation first!

Which would breakdown the delusional barriers that block your own judgment.

When this realization happens to shock your presence,

you will then understand the essence of your own reflection.

By seeing your true-self, you won’t be so quick to judge someone else!

TWENTY ONE GUNS

the other day it occured to me

its a terrible price for liberty.

its the soldiers who died without a fear..

leaving their families to shed all the tears.

the family that stands at the burial site

the loved one they bury in the day’s fading light.

carried home by brothers whose spirits now sag

they carry that coffin…draped with a flag.

One last tribute for the freedoms he’s won

the playing of taps and twentyone guns.

they know it can happen and there may come a day..

the ultimate price for freedom…they’re willing to pay.

defending our freedoms…these brothers in arms

they come from the cities and come from the farms.

their vision is blurred and eyes full of tears

dying too young but wise for their years.

dont be sad for them..instead raise your voice

they knew of the cost and still made the choice.

one last tribute for the freedoms they’ve won

the playing of taps and twentyone guns.

a crisp salute to family at the end of their life

the presenting of a flag to a mother or wife.

the sounds of the mourners sobbing and standing around

they are given their final peace and placed in the ground.

one more hero sent up at the end of this day

cometh the angels to take him away.

they died with dignity…they did not die in vain,

i hope you understand..let me explain.

ONE FINAL TRIBUTE FOR THE FREEDOMS THEY’VE WON

THE PLAYING OF TAPS AND TWENTY ONE GUNS.

Above stood fire with wings
Watchers with covered eyes
Bodiless yet shame-shrouded
Sent fleet across the sky

Glory and the smell of lightning
And I, my mouth full of salt
Gazing on the polished stone
Of a silk-purple draped palace

Pleading at the threshold
No heed for the crystal sphere
Already emptied from pockets
Stomach starving from fear

The already delivered cry
“Lord have mercy on me!”
A sound not heard from hell
But a lonely heart’s mourning

Warmed by a breeze of breath
Becoming known in knowing
Commingled but never confused
Many by grace one, yet many

MY VALENTINE
Last night!
When I saw you with twinkling eyes,
You were singing with very inspiring voice,
When I came close
& close and close
Then I heard you,
And lost in deep thoughts…
You were praising, praising
And praising & praising
I smiled with spark,
& holdup my heart,
You were staring, staring
& staring and staring,
I was breathing high,
With much more sigh
You led down with holding mine hand in you hand,
I sighed and you said;
“Would you be valentine of mine?”

There’s a small place in my heart
For my first love!
You where lost to me
When we were young
And yet
My feelings are as strong
As on that day when we first met
You’re the one
I’ll never forget
My first love
With your love for life
Your infectious smile
Your cheeky grin
Your deep blue eyes
Your pure, pale skin
Your golden hair
Made my heart melt
Whenever you were near,
If only things had turned out right
But the diagnosis meant you had a fight
At so young an age
Try as you might
You were never meant to win
Fate can be so very cruel
But you’d flash that cheeky grin
You pushed me away
It hurt at the time
Now I know it was for the best
You didn’t want me
To share in your test
As I write these words I know
If you were with me now
The outcome may have not been the same
But I know one thing that will never change
Within my heart still burns your flame
So rest in peace my dear first love
Please know I bear no ill will
Always know my first love
I loved you then, I love you now
And I know I always will

I sit on the sofa, holding a mug
Then there’s a nose under my elbow
Of the dog that I love
He pleads with sad eyes
As he snuggles in tight
So I give him a hug and
Settle in for the night
My heart rate slows down
As I stroke his coat
Then I hear a deep sigh
Coming from his throat
At peace with ourselves
As night it draws nigh
Then his head it rests, on my thigh
In for the duration,
However long that may be
Settled, comfortably enjoying
Each other’s company!
