Rockin’ rhythms, ever livin’
Beat is poundin’, always givin’
Always jumpin’; always thumpin’
Hear the music as it’s pumpin’
Digital is always playin’
But I can’t hear what it’s sayin’
Nerves are twitchin’; this is bitchin’
In the den and in the kitchen
Sounds are all that I am hearin’
But I love it and I’m cheerin’
Keep it goin’, never stoppin’
As I’m twitchin’ and [...]

Dancing with a dream
Dancing with a dream
As you fell into my arms
A perfect fit
The feeling, felt so right
We gazed into each others eyes
We knew it
As we grasped each other
And held so tight.
The pounding of our hearts
Beating to the melody
Of Sinatra crooning
“I’ll never smile again.”
The smile was there
For fifty six years
Suddenly the music stopped,
You left
Called home.
Now
I’m all alone.
Awaiting [...]

Watching Bewildered
(Here’s something from Feb. 2008)
His eyes watch her
from across the room.
Her body,
sways like palm trees
in the wind.
Her hand,
an ice-skater gliding the chalk
over the board.
Her voice,
a song the sweet birds sing.
His face,
unfathomable still,
but eyes glisten watching
the performance mill.
What is he thinking?
I wonder,
watching his eyes focused on only her
all the bustling bodies disappear asunder.
The tap tap tap
of [...]

Time
Life is a flaming ocean, and desires are
Floating in there, at times delving into
Depths and again, surfacing with the froths.
Grief is a point in life.
Happiness another one
Life swings as a pendulum between
Theses two points, in despair and joy
That is Life…A pendulum.
Inception, in cries and tears
Then grows and develops, a big smile
Enveloped in happiness and mirth;
Beguiled [...]

Melody…
Why did you call me again, fragrance of my dreams?
Roving through the seven seas and the seven mountains,
Without knowing your destination.
In the middle of impenetrable darkness,
In my half slumber, I heard the music
Of your love, calling me…
Why did you call me?
In the hub of the spring, while I was sleeping
Drained and sapped, and my flute [...]

WHICH TINT OF THE RAINBOW?
Which tint is of the rainbow!
Which note is of the sextet!
In your eyes,
In your lips,
What is the tone of
The music you hum?
I will adorn the treads you walk
With flowers… magnificent.
Open those steps for me to walk,
Dress up for me this night,
And keep yourself for me,
To take you near my soul
To make you the rhythm
of my [...]

I love a Parade
I love a parade
The Memorial Day parade
Happy, yet a somber day,
Honoring those who gave their life
So all may
Enjoy
Basking in freedom and liberty
Free from strife.
The rat-tat tat of the drum
The toot toot toot of the horn
Brings out the innate
Love of a parade
To which every man was born.
The rod straight sight of the [...]

No Time For The Chorus
Our time passes by and we hardly have time for the chorus,
While singing the verses and doing the things here before us,
A symphony, jingle, or maybe a song sung by Doris,
By end of the day, there is not enough time for the chorus
We hear all the words, but we don’t comprehend what they’re saying,
Because we [...]

The Cafรฉ
Black eyes gaze
from faded photographs…
Music of the Romany
Danced in between,
Languid women,
Bodies like
Melted butter,
Sipping their
Fin a’ l’eau
Their laughter,
The rustling
Of dead leaves
And dark men
Flashing smiles
Hair slicked,
With the faint
Scent of Patchouli
The air dense
With the smoke
Of Clove cigarettes
It was their cafรฉ,
A chimera for
The disenchanted
The last haven
Of hope for the
Forgotten ones
