I used to believe in miracles ,
Used to think that I had a guardian standing tall ,
With auburn tresses falling delicately covering his untainted cerulean eyes ,
His hoary white wings would glisten in the velvety moonlight ,
His arms would form a hindrance to protect me from the malovelent ,
I would overcome all trepidations and walk [...]

The dreams of evening.
Among the fields of faded dreams
When day is done, or so it seems,
I stand beside the padlocked gate
And watch the evening as I wait,
While breezes call from shadows deep
As willows hang their heads and weep,
The dreams of evening speak to me
About the things they want to be.
New born beginnings, new romance,
Scattered windblown flowers dance,
Promises on [...]

Leave Me
Leave me now.
No pain or sorrow.
Better now,
before tomorrow.
Express no words.
Better not say,
for words betray.
Each lie causes my heart to frey,
torn apart in pure decay.
Rather hear no words at all now,
Silence is my only sound.

The Day The World Stopped (911)
It was the day we lost our innocence,
When human nature showed its worst,
And its best.
A day of terror,
Remorse,
Fear and anguish.
September 11, 2001,
The day the world stopped.
I sat watching the pictures in disbelief,
Knowing in my mind what was happening,
But in my heart, believing this could never be.
My plan that day was to buy a new computer,
But [...]

Welcome Home
“Welcome, my child, I’m glad you are here,
Where there is no sorrow, worry or fear,
Now open the gift I have given to you,
A life of abundance, accepted by few.”
The gates were swung open, and that which I saw,
Both kept me in silence, and left me in awe,
The City of God, with its streets of pure [...]

Big City Wilderness
Big city wilderness, what can compare?
Folks by the millions, in lone solitaire,
Looking, not seeing the traffic around,
Heading to work and then home they are bound.
No time for chatter or saying “Good Day”,
In a big hurry, they go their own way,
Whether by subway or taxi or bus,
“Nothing is perfect”, they rant and they cuss.
Playing the markets [...]

The Choice
The cold dark air is coming soon
Since it is 6hrs past noon
The sun is slowly descending from the sky
Making me feel sad knowing I may soon die
The devil I fear is coming near
The cold wind is like a whisper in my ear
Soon I will make a choice
End my life
Rid myself of this earthly strife
It would [...]

Archipelago IV
Archipelago IV
These islands are my own;
Still they are uncharted as yet.
The first crude maps gave only
An imperfect representation,
Like an old sheet of Polaroid film
Whose development had stopped
Somewhere in the process
Leaving only a suggestion of
What was there.
The later maps got the distances correct:
4,776 miles to London;
4,508 miles to Glasgow.
But from which island?
The largest [...]

BEHIND THE WHITE FRONT DOOR
Every day I pass it by
This house of solid wood,
I would like to go inside
If only that I could.
It has a large veranda
With wicker rocking chairs,
And beautiful red geraniums
Sit upon the stairs.
Each time that I walk by it
I feel the warmth inside,
It makes me want to run away
From the outside world and hide.
The curtains on [...]
